Unique aerial capabilities
Among other extinguishing systems developed, IFEX has also fully developed a helicopter fire fighting systems with many applications. Our company currently provides complete fire fighting solutions for a) the EUROCOPTER Ecureuil AS-350 B2/B3, with an attached external water tank of 300 lt and 2 x 18 lt dual intruder cannons and b) the KAMAN K-MAX, with a built-in water tank of up to 2.000 lt and 2 x 25 lt dual intruder cannons.
For comparison reasons and only, the extinguishing capacity of 100 lt of water with the use of IFEX technology can be correlated with a capacity of more than 1.000 lt of water any conventional helicopter fire fighting solution can offer. With minor modifications, the above systems could be easily also attached to other light and medium helicopters like AGUSTA BELL, BOEING, etc.
OPERATIONAL FEATURES
An IFEX equipped, fire fighting, helicopter offers significant business advantages; in particular, it can support and enhance the operational strategic planning in fighting forest fires and additionally its’ operational capabilities can provide unique solutions in fighting urban and not only fires. It can provide aerial services and fire fighting solutions in the following areas:
- Aerial patrol, surveillance and instant fire fighting, with full water load, without wasting valuable time.
- Fighting forest fires in their early stages, with ability to re-load water while airborne from any ground water reservoir or tank, or vehicle tank or pool or lake or sea.
- Fire fighting together and in coordination with ground troops on the perimeter of a fire, or the creation of fire defence zones or immediate response on possible fire resurgences.
- Fire fighting in the countryside.
- Transfer of personnel.
- Fire fighting in high buildings and skyscrapers.
- Fire fighting on yachts, cruisers, cargo ships, tankers, etc. at sea.
- Fire fighting in case of car, truck, motorway, railway, etc. accidents.
- Fire fighting in oil refineries, industrial factories, nuclear plants, etc.
IFEX systems and applications may as well use any known additive like foam, other chemicals and other fire-fighting agents (extinguishing powder, cement, etc.).
